Did you know we all have a "personal comfort zone "?
According to Wikipedia, "Comfort Zone " is:
A limited set of behaviors and environments that a person can engage in without becoming anxious…
It is set of environments and behaviors with which one is comfortable, without creating a sense of risk .
One very critical act that every online entrepreneur must take is getting our of his or her "comfort zone ".
Being in your "comfort zone" entails your contentment with doing the things that you’ve always done before. Instead of taking risks, those who hang out in the comfort zone tend to avoid risk.
Now of course taking risks is not just doing something completely wild. Entrepreneurs who get out of their comfort zone take calculated risk.
Getting out of the comfort zone entails pushing aside any fear of failure or success that you might have and taking "out of the ordinary" action to achieve your goals.
How to Get Out of Your Personal Comfort Zone
The more you get out of your comfort zone, the more you realize that your uncomfortable zone becomes your comfort zone. It’s all a matter of personal and business growth, and if you’ve been a reader of my blog for sometime, you know I equate to be one and the same.
So how do you get out of your personal comfort zone?
Here are a few tips to help you:
1) List a few things you want to do but haven’t gotten around to doing (this is the "I’ve been meaning to do list").
2) Write down why you have not completed each task (often times this will either be a fear of the outcome or a fear of what others might think of you).
3) Write down 1-3 action steps you can take to get past the fear.
4) Ask yourself what’s the best thing that can happen if you do take action and accomplish that goal.
5) Take small steps towards achieving that goal.
The key is to realize that although you might have a fear of something that does not mean you should let that fear rule you. Take small action steps towards that goal and you will soon start to realize that it was a lot easier than you thought to get out of that personal comfort zone.
Leon Li has a great post on the dangers of staying in your comfort zone . It’s a quick read and provides a cool analogy on the importance of always reaching to grow out of your zone.
Something to think about:
What one thing have you been putting off this week or month? Write the action plan according to the outline above and take small steps towards reaching that goal.
What have you done to get out of a comfortable situation? How did it help you grow? Let us know!
I appreciate you!

Today’s post is a reflection of some personal fears when it comes to building a network marketing business .
As I prepared to meet with a professional counselor on some personal challenges I have been facing, I noticed an index card attached to a small lamp with the above Dr. Phil quote on it.
"You cannot change what you do not acknowledge."
~ Dr. Phil
It seemed like a very timely quote.
I sat thinking about personal quality traits that perhaps I had failed to acknowledge and might have been the cause of the personal challenges I was facing.
Then I started thinking about the moderate success I was having in network marketing and ways I might not be acknowledging some flaws and challenges there.
I began realizing I had a deep fear of building a large team (fear of success - ay ay ay), and that was affecting my potential to have massive success at building a network marketing business. I realized that instead of realizing I was afraid to team-build, I was actually blaming the product (I didn’t’ believe in it) or just telling myself that I was not cut out for team building .
What baloney, eh? lol
This type of reasoning gave me all the more reason to develop my web authoring/developing, SEO and blogging skills to start a Small Business Internet Marketing Consulting Business and focus just on that one income stream.
As I networked locally this week, I started hearing several times this week about "diversification" and investing. So, I realized that I had to put away the fear aside and also devote time to also work on my network marketing ventures as well as my consulting business.
It won’t be a small order, but at least I can find a happy medium with my passion for blogging and teaching others how to blog with my desire to grow my network marketing ventures too.
See, now that I acknowledged the challenge I was facing, I have come to a solution!
Thanks, Dr. Phil
I hoped you enjoyed this ah ha moment!
I appreciate you.

After 1 1/2 months of intense product creation, I’ve completed and launched my first information product (e-book) "Mindset Marketing : Learn to Finally Stop Self-Sabotaging Your Success and Gain Massive Momentum in Your Online Business" and released it on Friday, December 12, 2008. (Friday was my birthday and I totally celebrated)!
Not only is Mindset Marketing a huge accomplishment for me just because it is my first information product.
It’s so big because four short months ago I was a virtual unknown online, and I was stuck in "Internet information overload " land.
Today, I have attracted significant success online despite being :
I have - Since July of 2008:
In November I decided to share exactly HOW I was able to achieve these things, and a month later, here’s Mindset Marketing .
I’ve been blessed to have received raving reviews about Mindset Marketing from dozens of online entrepreneurs who have purchased advanced copies as well as from my affiliate partners.
One of my favorites comes from a new friend I was introduced to on Twitter , Jonathan Gillardi . Jonathan has been online for considerably longer than I have, and has this to say:
"I have been in and around this industry for a long while. And to read something this Dynamic and Full of Useful information , Yes I said Useful. It was a breath of fresh air.
Most of the so-called Internet Attraction Marketing material coming out these days is just recycled from one to the next.
I am pleased to say I read the material in one 2 hour sitting and actually put my life on hold until I finished it, that is how much I got out of it.
I always LOOK to find something to learn from all material. But with your Mindset Marketing e-book I learned many many things, and I didn’t have to LOOK.
I can’t wait to be able to read the other multitude of testimonies you will be receiving and how your E-book has helped others in their business and lives.
If someone does not purchase your Mindset Marketing e-book, in my opinion they might as well never look at ever doing any business on the Internet period.
Jonathan’s words speaks volumes about the quality of the information here . I poured my heart and soul into Mindset Marketing (very much like I do here on the blog - multiplied by a thousand).
Mindset Marketing particularly dispels 6 myths to online business success, and also addresses the importance of redefining success, discovering your passions and strengths, and taking massive action.
The 6 myths are really faulty beliefs we hold on to as a result of being accustomed to thinking like an employee instead of an entrepreneur . Having any one trace of these 6 erroneous mindset/beliefs equals the recipe for online marketing self-sabotage.
So this means, you can purchase all the online marketing information you can get your hands on, but if your mind is not operating and thinking like an online entrepreneur, you’ll run into serious problems. This is not to say you don’t need any marketing savvy. Quite the contraire, my friends.
Mindset Marketing is a mix of super entrepreneurial mindset plus innovative marketing strategy that will allow ANY online entrepreneur to gain massive momentum in his or her own online business(es).

If you’ve been following me here on my blog, you’ll know that I take every experience and squeeze all the juice out of that experience to make it into a learning and growing lesson. You’ll get a thousand times the value in my new e-book and will continue to get A+ content here on the blog for 2009.
Keep posted for some behind the scenes info on product launches…
I will most certainly have several blog posts dedicated to showing you just how simple it is to create your first information product - even with a million challenges coming at ya.

What factors determine online success?
This topic could be an e-book or course. Today I’m only going to focus on two online success factors.
1) Invest in Yourself (Whether that require money or time)
Last weekend I had the privilege of attending a 6 Figure Business School with millionaire business coach, Myron Golden. After having attended this event, reading, Internet marketing Guru of the Gurus’ Rich Schefren’s, “The Uncertainty Syndrome” e-book, and reading blogging pro Yaro Starak’s latest blog post on business constraints, I realized I had a “constraint” that was affecting where I wanted to be.
Until recently I had been feeling like I should be more successful.
Perhaps it’s the “perfectionist” in me. Or Maybe I get impatient, at times, with the progress I’ve made.
Whatever it was, that form of thinking was causing me to focus on my obstacles instead of refocusing, looking past the obstacles, and envisioning the end result (my goal).
This “ah ha” moment really sank in when Dr. Stan Harris, motivational hall of fame and transformational speaker, asked me to come up and break a wooden martial arts board with my bare hand.
I was the first volunteer and broke that board in half on the first attempt! Oh yeah! lol I wish someone had taken a picture.
I noticed the reason I broke it was that I had looked past the block. It was as if the block had become invisible while I prepared to break through my obstacle (the block).
So I told myself - that’s the focus I must ALWAYS have in my business (and in life).
See, we must empower ourselves to look beyond the obstacles that appear along the way.
If you really stretch your mind and realize - obstacles are a blessing in disguise. Obstacles are only placed in our path to help us stretch to the level where we can handle greater success.
If I had not invested money and time in myself this past weekend I might have not stopped to realize how grateful I am, and should always be, about my present place in this journey to “success” online.
It’s more important to enjoy the journey than to rush our way to the end result - how boring and anticlimactic would it be if we set a huge goal and achieved it right away?
Most online marketers want instant success.
Instant traffic.
Instant results.
Aside from the computer turning into an ATM machine (and what a nice visual), how enjoyable would it really be if any goal we ever set were achieved instantaneously? What If everything were just spoon fed to us? It wouldn’t be worth setting that goal. We wouldn’t have the milestones to celebrate.
We all have have to APPRECIATE where we are at the VERY PRESENT and realize how far we’ve all come since we’ve begun our own journey to online success! Whatever “success” means to us.
Although, I am no guru YET, I have developed many skill sets and honed others this year. I’ve grown so much in my business that I decided to become a passionate Internet Marketing Coach, and I am really enjoying my clients’ and my online progress.
I’ve also developed a nice following online via Twitter, Facebook, Digg and a host of other social networking sites, in a very relatively short amount of time, as well as have Joint Ventured with some cool like-minded folks in other online projects. It’s been FUN!
So enjoy the milestones guys.
2) Realize that Online Success Doesn’t Happen by Yourself - It happens Alongside Others
We’ve all heard of leveraging our money, our time, but what about leveraging our SKILL SETS?
We all need the help of others to succeed online. That’s the beauty of finding an accountability partner, participating in a mastermind group, or finding new people to connect with on the Internet.
Think of it this way: Online and Offline business owners get paid because they know WHO to ask for help.
Don’t be ashamed to ask others for help.
Recently, I’ve had very new friends offer to help me with a task I was stumped on (streaming video to a membership site) via Twitter and Facebook. If you are not good at streaming video find someone who knows how. Develop relationships with others who compliment your skills sets!
Leverage is earning off the efforts of other people.
Your Goal, my friend, is to become a CLO (Chief Leveraging Officer).
Okay…that’s it for today.
I welcome any comment about your journey online.

P.S. I still have 6 Tickets to Myron’s 6 Figure Business School at an unbeatable price (next one is in Orlando, Florida next month). Catch me on Twitter to inquire.
When I first started to teach myself how to build an online presence I wanted to soak up tons of information before getting started. I soon realized I was in the “analysis paralysis” stage and wasn’t putting myself out there.
It wasn’t that I didn’t feel I was a good writer. I happen to believe I’m an awesome writer. I am confident that I can express ideas clearly. However, I was afraid to be imperfect. That fear stopped me from taking action.
I wanted a perfect online presence. I wanted to make sure I knew all the “rules” to building an effective Internet presence. That mindset delayed my success.
You see, I came to realize taking imperfect action is 100 times better than taking no action at all.
Usually we are really the only ones stopping ourselves from being successful or from reaching a goal.
Self-sabotage is real.
We fear that if we do things inadequately the world is going to point a big fat finger at us and laugh.
Many of us even fear success.
I know often times I HAVE. It’s crazy to think that we would, but we do. When we delay in making decisions and taking action we delay the success we deserve and desire.
The truth is successful leaders make quick decisions and take action imperfectly. I had to learn that.
When you develop your presence online you will learn as you build your Internet content.
We all make mistakes. No big deal.
Take your mistakes in stride and focus on taking IMPERFECT ACTION to build that online presence.
